RECAP
TACOMA, Washington (Ticker) -- Mike Darr and Dusty Allen both
drove home a pair of runs in a five-run, top of the ninth inning
as the Las Vegas Stars rallied to beat the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-2.
After David Newhan was intentionally walked to load up the
bases, Darr snapped a 2-2 tie with a two-run single. Allen
followed with another two-run single, his second hit of the
game. Kevin Nicholson started the rally, singled home Shane
Monahan to tie the contest for Las Vegas. Dan Serafini (2-1)
allowed three hits and struck out a batter in one inning for the
win. Brandon Kolb recorded the last out to gain his seventh save
of the season. Mike Neill hit a solo home run in the first
inning and Anthony Sanders lifted a sacrifice fly in the sixth
for Tacoma, which lost for just the second time in its last
seven games. Todd Williams (0-2) surrendered five runs -- four
earned -- and five hits in the ninth for the loss.
