RECAP
TACOMA, Washington (Ticker) -- Mike Darr hit a tie-breaking,
two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning as the Las Vegas
Stars edged the Tacoma Rainiers, 4-2. Darr, who lifted a
sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, hit his third homer of the
season. Dusty Allen tied the contest in the top of the eighth
inning with an RBI single for Las Vegas, which has won six of
its last seven games. Matt Whiteside (1-2) fanned three batters
over two hitless innings for the win and Brandon Kolb tossed a
perfect 10th for his eighth save. Carlos Hernandez singled home
a pair of runs in the fourth inning for Tacoma, who had its
record evened at 15-15 with the loss. Aaron Scheffer (0-5)
surrendered two runs and a pair of hits in an inning for the
loss.
