OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Pedro Valdes drilled a three-run homer
in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally the Oklahoma
Redhawks past the Omaha Golden Spikes, 5-2. Valdes had a pair of
hits to extend his hitting streak to 13 games. Jon Shave went
2-for-2 with a pair of runs and a walk to also lengthen his
hitting streak to 13 for Oklahoma. Kelly Dransfeldt singled home
a run for the Redhawks, who have won five of their last six
games. Dan Kolb (4-1) allowed a pair of hits and struck out two
in 1 1/3 innings for the win. Tony Medrano and Les Norman both
hit an RBI single in the top of the eighth to tie the contest at
2-2 for Omaha, which has dropped seven straight. Archie Corbin
(0-4) surrendered three runs and five hits in an inning of work
for the loss.
