The Packers aren't handing the kicking job to rookie sixth-round pick Trey Smack, but they have cleared the way for him to win it by releasing veteran Brandon McManus on Friday. The move comes despite paying McManus a $1 million roster bonus in March. Smack isn't going to be handed the job. Lucas Havrisik remains on the roster for now.
