RECAP
EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- Lou Lucca's two-out homer in the
top of the ninth inning lifted the Memphis Redbirds past the
Edmonton Trappers, 4-3. Lucca's solo blast snapped a 3-3 tie and
helped Memphis win for the ninth time in its last 11 games.
Eduardo Perez and Ernie Young each had an RBI single in the
first inning for the Redbirds, who scored four runs on just five
hits. Trent Durrington homered and Jamie Burke went 2-for-4 with
an RBI double for Edmonton, which fell to 11-12 on the season.
Rick Heiserman (2-1) threw an inning of relief to pick up the
win and Gene Stechschulte pitched the ninth to record his third
save. Reliever Brett Hinchliffe (0-1) allowed one hit and one
run in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss.
