RECAP
FRESNO, California (Ticker) -- Jose Ortiz knocked in four runs
and Rich Sauveur tossed seven strong innings as the Sacramento
River Cats beat the Fresno Grizzlies, 12-2. Ortiz, who also
doubled, ripped a three-run triple in the second inning to
extend his hitting streak to 14 games. Sauveur (2-0) allowed a
pair of runs, five hits and struck out six for the win. Paul
Sorrento hit a two-run homer in the first frame and Eric Martins
added his own two-run blast in the third for Sacramento, which
has won four of its last five contests. Giuseppe Chiaramonte
contributed an RBI double for Fresno, which has dropped four
straight games. Miguel Del Toro (1-3) was shelled for 10 runs,
eight hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings for the loss.
