MOBILE, Ala. -- In preparation for the 2003 Senior Bowl, ESPN.com sat down with Southern California quarterback Carson Palmer to get his take on everything from his favorite football moment to his musical tastes as he prepares for a professional football career.
Carson Palmer: My favorite moment has to be winning the Orange Bowl. 2. What three CDs are getting the most play in your stereo? Palmer: I actually don't listen to CDs very often. I listen to the radio or if I do listen to a CD, it'll be a mix. 3. What do you think will be the biggest difference between college and pro football? Palmer: The speed of the game will be the biggest difference. Everybody is so much faster. 4. What's the best and worst part of gameday? Palmer: The best part of gameday is when kickoff finally happens. The worst part is going through all warmups and stretching and waiting and waiting for the game. 5. Do you think there should be a Division I-A playoff? Palmer: Definitely. Somehow they have to work a playoff in. They have to do something. 6. If you could change one thing about college football, what would it be? Palmer: I'd go to a playoff system to decide the national title. 7. If you had to play on the other side of the ball, what position would you want to play? Palmer: I'd like to play free safety. It would be fun to read things out and break on the ball. I definitely would not want to play on the defensive line. I wouldn't want to be down there in the trenches. 8. If you couldn't play football, what sport would you pursue? Palmer: Basketball. If I could be anything, it would be a professional basketball player. 9. What player at the Senior Bowl are you looking forward to being on the field with? Palmer: Taylor Jacobs. He's really special, a big-time player. 10. What's your first big purchase after signing a pro contract? Palmer: Hopefully, a condo or house wherever I end up. I'll need a place to live.
