As expected, no decision was made today on a future CFP model, and multiple sources told ESPN the idea of a 20-team model is not being evaluated right now. More time during the videoconference was spent exploring a 24-team format, and the CFP staff presented a lot of information as it relates to the calendar - academic, recruiting, etc., and the possibility of unwinding conference championship games. Dec. 1 is the deadline to decide the format if it’s going to change by 2027.
