The latest megadeal for a top young player: Shortstop Kevin McGonigle and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on an eight-year, $150 million contract extension. Comes on the heels of similar deals for shortstops Konnor Griffin in Pittsburgh, Colt Emerson in Seattle and Cooper Pratt in Milwaukee.
