NEWS: Tennessee football has signed a 10-year jersey patch deal with First Horizon Bank, which industry sources tell ESPN will be worth more than $120 million over the life of the deal. The deal also includes various Olympic sports, but is separate from the men’s and women’s basketball patches.

University at Buffalo will start redshirt junior transfer Elijah Holmes at quarterback, per ESPN sources, and he’ll debut for the Bulls against Albany on Thursday night. Holmes is a Wingate transfer who threw for 3,040 yards and 24 touchdowns last year in Division II. He also ran for 290 yards and three touchdowns. Buffalo plays FIU and Penn State later this month.

NEWS: Michigan star freshman basketball player Brandon McCoy will miss the season with "an ACL injury," the school announced today. The injury occurred in an exhibition game in Croatia last week. He was a Top 20 ranked player in ESPN's rankings and projected to have a huge impact at Michigan this year.

South Carolina coach Shane Beamer told ESPN he does not expect star DE Dylan Stewart (back) or prized LT transfer Jacarrius Peak (knee) to play against Kent State this weekend. He added both are ramping up to return, as Peak will do “more this morning than he’d done all year” in practice. He said Stewart “will be cleared for contact soon and then he’ll be ready to roll.” South Carolina plays Towson Week 2 and Mississippi State Week 3.

Martin Jarmond has been dismissed as UCLA's athletic director, sources told ESPN. He's been there since 2020, when he arrived from Boston College. He's set to be owed the $6.5 million remaining on his contract. Per ESPN sources, Tim Harris will serve as CEO and AD of UCLA Athletics. He'll work the interim role on a pro bono basis. He's a former Lakers executive.

Sources: Fresno State has named Jayden Mandal the school’s starting quarterback, and he’ll make his first career start at No. 14 USC on Friday night. Mandal is in his fourth season at Fresno and has six career appearances, as he missed last season due to injury. Mandal won a battle with Khristian Martin, a Maryland transfer. Mandal has nine attempts in the six games he appeared in back in 2024.

Western Kentucky has named Rodney Tisdale Jr. the starting quarterback, per ESPN sources. He beat out Florida State transfer Brock Glenn for the starting job. Tisdale started the final six games for WKU last year, and won Conference USA Freshman of the Year. WKU opens at Nevada and then goes to Georgia and Indiana. Tisdale Jr. is a redshirt sophomore who was productive for WKU last year, throwing for 1,432 yards and nine touchdowns and adding 108 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
