NEWS: Former UNC star guard Seth Trimble has committed to Louisville, he tells ESPN, giving the Cardinals another marquee piece for a team that’s projected among the best in the sport next year. Trimble entered the portal this spring and the Colorado district court ruling on the Class of 2022 opened the door for his eligibility.   He averaged 14.0 pts for Carolina last year. Trimble told ESPN he considers UNC “home” and appreciated his time there, but a roster logjam led him to look elsewhere.

Sources: Northwestern football has received a commitment for a $35 million gift from the family of Liz and Dick Uihlein, which is set to come over the next three years. The donation is one intended for holistic football success – including recruiting support and broader program needs.   This football gift by the Uihlein family is significant, as it comes with Northwestern showing its financial commitment with the opening of the more than $850 million new Ryan Field and hire of OC Chip Kelly.

Sources: The Big Ten voted this week to expand the league’s football travel rosters to 80 for league games. It goes up from 74. The reason is the aged-based eligibility rules, as there’s no longer redshirts so there’s more players who will have the opportunity to play.

Sources: Indiana edge rusher Kellan Wyatt has been added to the Hoosiers’ roster for the 2026 season, a second key addition this week to an already deep defensive line group. Wyatt started seven games for IU last year before a season-ending injury, registering 8.0 TFLs.

Sources: Indiana star defensive lineman Stephen Daley will return to the Hoosiers for his fifth year. He led Indiana in TFLs last year with 19.0 and also added 5.5 sacks, and his addition looms as a significant boost to a talented and deep Indiana defensive front group.   Daley missed the College Football Playoff with a knee injury, which prevented him from being signed to an NFL roster. He’s been cleared by Indiana officials, as he’s set to be eligible for his fifth and final year.
