The Jets exercised the fifth-year option for DE Will McDonald IV, the team leader in sacks (eight). McDonald, a 2023 first-round pick, is projected to make $13.8 million guaranteed in 2027. The Jets declined the option for DT Mazi Smith, whom they acquired from Dallas in the Quinnen Williams trade last November. Smith played sparingly last season. He remains under contract for 2026.
