The Jets have signed former Birmingham Stallions K Harrison Mevis, per source. At Missouri, he had one of the great nicknames in college football — the Thiccer Kicker. (He's 6-0, 242 pounds.) Mevis blew up the UFL this season, making 20 of 21 field goals. He tried out recently for the Jets, and evidently impressed. He joins Anders Carlson and rookie Caden Davis as the kickers on the Jets' roster. They likely will go to training camp with only two.
