The Jets released P Thomas Morstead, leaving two unproven punters to compete for the job — Austin McNamara and Kai Kroeger. They signed Kroeger, an UDFA from South Carolina, on Tuesday. Morstead, 39, saw a slippage in his gross/net averages, along with his inside the 20 pct. He was due to make $2.125M (non-guaranteed). The move provides $2.55M in cap relief. Morstead, on IG, said he's "disappointed to be moving on and disappointed at how it went down, but it's the way the business goes."
