Marvin Tate
A native of Abilene, Texas, Marvin Tate grew up destined to play football for A&M football. After earning a football scholarship, he played for 3 years under Coach Ray George before serving his senior season under Bear Bryant, graduating in 1955.

In 1967, Tate was offered the position Associate Director of Athletics of A&M and he jumped at the opportunity. Tate was promoted to Director of Athletics in 1978 and served in that position until 1981.

After serving as mayor of Bryan City, TX from 1985-1995, Mr. Tate now acts as the Associate Director of Resource Development for Blinn College.

Tate credits his time under Coach Bryant as one of the most character building experiences of his life.
