Watch Anthony Rizzo discuss getting swept by the Cardinals.

The Cubs are the second team in MLB history to be swept in a 4-game series at home, losing each game by one run. The previous instance was 100 years ago, when Indians swept the Red Sox at Fenway Park. The first game of that series was a 3-2 loss in 13 innings, during which Babe Ruth pitched all 13 innings for the Red Sox. Baseball!

The Astros clinch their third straight AL West title -- all with 100-plus wins as they're the first team to win 100 games three seasons in a row since the 2002-2004 Yankees. George Springer hit three home runs and Justin Verlander won his 20th game for the second time in his career as he continues to make his pitch for his second Cy Young Award.

Dan Mullen

George Springer apparently really wants to clinch the AL West today. With Houston's magic number for the division crown at 1, the Astros outfielder has gone deep in each of his first 3 at-bats and should get at least a couple chances at a 4-home run day.

Congrats to Nelson Cruz for his 400th career home run -- not bad for a guy who had just 22 through his age-27 season. He's the 10th Dominican player to reach 40 and now has four 40-homer seasons from age-33 or older. Only Babe Ruth and Barry Bonds with five have more.

Just getting started on Sunday Night Baseball— Phillies at Indians, and Cleveland with a chance to move into a tie for the second wildcard.
