2026 Pitcher Types

Groundball/Flyball
Groundball and flyball pitchers defined as such before the season begins based on the past five year's performance. A groundball/flyball ratio of less than 1.0 classifies one as a flyball pitcher. A ratio of greater than 1.5 classifies one as a groundball pitcher. All others are neutral.

Power/Finesse
Power and finesse pitchers are defined as such before the season begins based on the past five years' performance. If the pitcher's (BB+SO)/IP is less than 0.93, he is classified as "finesse." If greater than 1.13, he is classified as "power." All others are neutral.
