Fantasy Men's Basketball
News: 7 hours agoJames (rest) won't be available for Saturday's preseason contest against the Celtics, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.
Spin: The Sixers will be resting several players for this contest, and James is one of the many projected starters who will be taking a seat alongside Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown. The 76ers will manage James' workload carefully with an eye toward having him ready for the regular-season opener against the Knicks on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: James willingly accepted a third option role with the Lakers last season, allowing Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves to operate at higher usage. After signing with the 76ers this offseason, James finds himself in a similar situation where he will likely be the third or fourth option behind teammates Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid. James may play some point forward, so his assists may increase, but his scoring volume and overall fantasy production are likely capped.
