News: 2 days agoMurray (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Heat, Andrew Lopez of Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network reports.
Spin: Murray is dealing with a right toe contusion, though head coach Jamahl Mosley said his absence Thursday is precautionary. The veteran point guard's next chance to play in the preseason will come Wednesday against Dallas.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Murray has battled major injuries in each of the last two seasons, limiting him to a total of 45 games played out of a possible 162. He had averaged 76 games the two seasons prior, and if he can return to that level of availability he can again be an impact fantasy starter. His scoring role with the Pelicans is not as large as previous roles with the Hawks and Spurs, but Murray is still a plus contributor to most counting and percentage categories.
