News: 2 days agoLeonard (knee) could sit out the entire regular season while rehabbing the partially torn ACL in his right knee, David Aldridge of The Athletic reports.
Spin: As usual, the Clippers have provided virtually no information regarding Leonard's status, but Aldridge notes that there's "little chance Leonard sees the floor during the regular season," which wouldn't come as too much of as surprise given how delicately Leonard's camp has handled his previous injuries. There's always a chance Leonard's rehab could progress more quickly than expected, but for fantasy purposes the two-time Finals MVP is probably best avoided in most leagues this season. For as long as Leonard remains sidelined, Paul George will serve as the Clippers' unquestioned offensive hub.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Leonard partially tore his ACL in June, and is expected to be out until at least February with a chance that he misses the entire season. Leonard's obviously an elite talent when he's on the court, and managers in deep fantasy leagues with an injured list slot might consider drafting him late and hoping he returns later in the season. But Leonard often misses games due to load management even when healthy, so a late-season return would likely come with heavy minutes restrictions and missed games in a best case scenario.
