News: 2 days agoLeonard (not injury related) won't play in Saturday's preseason opener against Miami and is unlikely to suit up for next Saturday's preseason game against the Clippers, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports.

Spin: Leonard is expected to miss both of Toronto's first two preseason games as part of his ramp-up plan. He'll have three more chances to suit up before the regular season if he's held out of next Saturday's contest.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Leonard set new career-highs in scoring (27.9 PPG), 3-pointers (2.6 3PG) and free throw percentage (89.2 FT%) last season while playing in his second-most games (68) since 2016-17. In the offseason, he was traded back to the Raptors where he will reprise a similar role. Availability, as always, is the biggest concern with Leonard's fantasy potential: he has only played more than 57 games only twice in his last six seasons.
