ESPN Fantasy Projection: The Jets selected Perine with a fourth-round pick during April's draft. The former Florida Gator checks in with good size at 5-foot-11, 216 pounds and profiles as a solid committee back with the ability to contribute as a pass-catcher and blocker. Perine never cleared 136 carries in a season at Florida but caught 40 passes last season. His 10 1/4-inch hands were biggest among backs at the combine, and his wingspan ranked among the largest. Perine has some limitations in terms of elusiveness and speed (4.62 40-yard dash), and while he could settle in as a third-down/receiving back in the pros, he'll compete with Frank Gore to be Le'Veon Bell's top backup for 2020. That certainly puts him on the handcuff radar in deeper leagues.
