News: 4 days agoHubbard carried the ball 10 times for 49 yards and a touchdown and caught all three of his targets for 38 yards and another score in Sunday's 59-37 loss to the Bears.

Spin: In the highest-scoring Week 1 game in NFL history, Hubbard did his part to keep Carolina competitive, opening the scoring with a four-yard grab in the first quarter and adding a two-yard TD plunge in the third. Hubbard also out-paced Jonathon Brooks in touch volume, getting 13 to the younger back's five as he tightened his grip on the No. 1 spot on the depth chart. Hubbard will look to stay productive in Week 2 on the road against the Falcons.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Hubbard is coming off a disappointing 2025 campaign in which he battled injury and lost lead-back duties to Rico Dowdle. The veteran was limited to 734 yards on 164 touches (he cleared 275 touches and 1,100 yards in 2023 and 2024), and he ranked 64th among 65 qualified backs in forced missed tackle rate and elusive rating, per PFF. Still in his prime at age 27, a bounce-back season is possible, especially with Dowdle gone and unproven Jonathon Brooks as his competition for touches. Hubbard should be considered a flex/bench option.
