SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said he had an “in-depth” conversation with the league coaches today about a 16-team CFP model that would include the five conference champs and 11 at-large teams. He called it a 5+11 model and “our own ability to earn those berths.” He said, “At the coaching level, the question is, ‘Why wouldn’t that be fine? Why wouldn’t we do that?’”
