Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec has been named to the College Football Playoff Board of Managers, the Big 12 Conference announced Thursday. The CFP board has the ultimate authority over the playoff and will have to approve any format changes the commissioners recommend for 2026 and beyond. The Big Ten and SEC have the bulk of control over that.
