Sources: FIU is expected to hire Daytona State head coach Joey Cantens as the school’s next head coach. He’s averaged 27.5 wins the last four years there and brings a 120-40 record over five seasons at the Florida JUCO.
Cantens appealed to the FIU brass because of both local and international experience. He started his career under Leonard Hamilton at FSU and coached professionally in Germany and with the Dominican Republic National Team.
