Texas tailback CJ Baxter intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he tells ESPN. Baxter earned Big 12 offensive newcomer of the year in 2023, rushing for 659 yards and 4.8 yards per carry.
Baxter earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2023 and emerged as one of the country’s most promising running backs. He missed 2024 after injury and was limited to eight games this year with nagging injuries.
He was considered among the elite running backs in the high school class of 2023.
