Sources: Rutgers has named fourth-year quarterback Dylan Lonergan the school’s starting quarterback, and he’ll debut for Rutgers against UMass on Sept. 3. He beat out third-year quarterback AJ Surace in a close battle. Lonergan is a transfer from Boston College and Alabama, and he started nine games at BC last season. Rutgers plays at Boston College in a Friday night game on Sept. 11. Lonergan has thrown for 2060 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career, including 390 yards and 4 TDs at MSU.
