Sources: Wake Forest will start Deshawn Purdie at quarterback against SMU today, marking his second-straight start. Wake Forest starter Robby Ashford continues to recover from a thumb injury and is dressed out and expected to be available for Wake Forest. Purdie threw for four touchdowns, zero interceptions and for 270 yards at Oregon State on Oct. 11. Ashford injured his thumb against Virginia Tech on Oct. 4.
