PHOENIX (AP) _ Richie Sexson and Tony Fernandez hit consecutive homers off Cy Young winner Randy Johnson as the Milwaukee Brewers beat Arizona 16-5 in an exhibition game Wednesday.

The Brewers, who scored a total of three runs in losing their previous four games, sent 15 batters to the plate in an 11-run seventh against Troy Brohawn and Jason Jacome.

Lou Collier doubled, tripled and drove in three runs in the inning, and Mark Sweeney had two RBI doubles. Luis Lopez singled and doubled in the inning, and finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

Johnson allowed five hits and three runs over five innings. He struck out six, but surrendered the back-to-back homers to Sexson and Fernandez in the fourth inning.

Arizona third baseman Matt Williams hit home run off Kyle Peterson in the fifth inning that cleared the 32-foot-high ``batter's eye'' atop wall in the center. Luis Gonzalez drove in three runs for the Diamondbacks.

The Brewers said before the game that starting shortstop Mark Loretta has a torn ligament in his left thumb and will be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks. Loretta injured the thumb sliding into second base Monday against Anaheim. He will have surgery on the thumb Thursday morning to reattach the ligament.

``We are going to miss not having Mark at the top of our lineup,'' said general manager Dean Taylor. ``We are confident that he will be back in our lineup in six to eight weeks.''

Manager Davey Lopes said he would move Jose Hernandez to shortstop in Loretta's absence. Hernandez had been in a three-way battle for the third base job with Tyler Houston and Tony Fernandez.

The Brewers also waived left-hander Rafael Roque.
