LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Grapefruit League game between a split squad of Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets was called after eight scoreless innings due to rain. The Braves had the best scoring chance in the fourth, when Chipper Jones walked, went to second on a wild pitch by Dennis Cook but was thrown out at the plate by right fielder Timo Perez after a single by Dave Martinez. Atlanta starter Tom Glavine tossed four innings, allowing two hits and two walks. Matt Whiteside and rookies Chris Seelbach and Billy Sylvester combined to allow just two hits over the last four innings. Grant Roberts, Julio Santana, Cook, Rich Rodriguez and rookie Jerrod Riggan scattered three hits for New York.
