Acting umpire crew chief Tim Timmons said he didn't toss the Camden Yards grounds crew Wednesday night. "I just didn't want all of them behind the tarp, especially with the infield in," he said.

I was just chatting with Wandy Peralta and he was telling me that he was quite upset that the Mets would think that his whistling had anything to do with a signal to indicate what pitch was coming. Peralta: "Watch me when I whistle, I do it to pump up my own guys and my own dugout! Been doing it all season! And if it was to call the pitch, I'd have to stay in the dugout all game!"
