News: 2 days agoIbaka (back) will only do non-contact work to start training camp, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Spin: Ibaka spent much of last season hampered by a severe back injury that limited him to 41 appearances. He's still working back from surgery, and his status for the opener is in question.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Ibaka played only 41 games last season due to injury, but even when healthy his volume was down from his last couple of seasons with the Raptors. The Clippers didn't need as much offensive support from him, and he was also battling Ivica Zubac for center minutes. This season, with Kawhi Leonard injured, there could be more minutes and opportunities in the frontcourt for Ibaka to bounce back slightly if he can regain his health.
