News: 16 hours agoFox won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Hawks due to soreness, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Spin: It's unclear exactly what is bothering Fox, though he was a late scratch due to soreness. His next chance to play in the preseason will come Saturday against the Suns.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: At 28 years old, Fox finds himself as the grizzled veteran on a team full of young, up-and-coming superstars. Fox's scoring in his first full season with the Spurs (18.6 PPG) was more than six points lower than his average for the five previous seasons (24.7 PPG), in large part because he had to share shots with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. Also because he had to share minutes with Dylan Harper, who played well as a rookie and seems poised to pop as a sophomore. Fox's minutes and production could go down more this season as the three young stars all take on even larger roles.
