News: 2 days agoThe Dolphins placed Parker on the PUP list Wednesday due to an unspecified injury, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Spin: No injury or surgery was reported this offseason, with Parker's main concern being target and snap competition after the Dolphins signed Will Fuller and drafted Jaylen Waddle. Quarterback play is also a major issue, though the improved group of pass catchers should help Tua Tagovailoa look more comfortable than he did last season. While the specifics of Parker's current injury haven't been revealed, he has a history of hamstring issues, including frequent appearances on practice reports in 2020. He managed to play 14 games, albeit with the hamstring issues limiting his workload in at least two of those.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Following a breakout 2019 campaign in which he posted a 72-1,202-9 receiving line en route to a WR11 fantasy campaign, Parker crashed back to earth in 2020. He missed two games, was held to a 63-793-4 line and finished 40th in fantasy points. He has now missed at least one game (13 total) and finished 40th or worse in fantasy points in five of his six seasons. Parker will have more competition for targets this season after Miami signed Will Fuller V and drafted Jaylen Waddle, and the team's QB situation is a question mark with unproven Tua Tagovailoa under center. The 28-year-old Parker will still play a sizable role, but there's enough risk here that he's best-valued as a flex option.
