News: 3 days agoGoff completed 21 of his 27 pass attempts for 174 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Rams' divisional-round loss to the Packers.
Spin: Goff completed a high percentage of his passes, but rarely pushed the ball downfield. He had only five completions of more than 10 yards, two of which came during the team's second drive of the contest. Despite the conservative approach -- which may have been forced due to the health of his thumb -- Goff kept the Rams competitive late into the game by not committing any turnovers. Heading into 2021, Goff is under contract and is almost certain to remain the team's starting quarterback due to the cap restraints of his deal.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: The Rams' offense took a step back last season, but heavy volume allowed Goff to make occasional noise in fantasy. Goff finished top-five in pass attempts, completions and yards, which helped him to seven top-10 fantasy weeks (fifth most). The 2016 first overall pick has finished 12th, seventh and 13th in fantasy points during Sean McVay's three seasons. He adds very little with his legs (40 rushing yards last season) but still manages to hang in as a streaming option thanks to McVay. In 2020, Goff will have a strong group of targets led by Robert Woods, Tyler Higbee and Cooper Kupp, though the Rams' line remains a concern. Consider Goff a midrange QB2.
