News: 2 days agoMixon rushed 24 times for 61 yards and a touchdown and brought in all four targets for 13 yards in the Bengals' 27-15 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night.

Spin: As expected, Mixon couldn't find any room against a Dolphins team that had been stingy against the run and operating behind an offensive line that had struggled to open any lanes over the first three games. However, the veteran back toughed it out while handling his second-highest volume on the ground this season, and he salvaged his fantasy night with a five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to open the scoring for the Bengals. Mixon also notched his second-highest reception total over the first four games, and he'll likely shoulder another heavy workload in a Week 5 road divisional showdown with the Ravens a week from Sunday.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Mixon returns as the feature back for the AFC Champion Bengals fresh off a season in which he posted career-high marks in carries, rushing yards, receiving yards, touchdowns and fantasy points. Mixon's fourth-place fantasy finish marks his third top 15 over the last four seasons. The former second-round pick isn't used a ton in the pass game, but he benefits from substantial volume in the run game (third in total carries and carries inside the 5-yard line last season). A lost 2020 season aside, Mixon's durability has been good and he's still in his prime at age 26. The Bengals' offense was very good in 2021 and an improved offensive line will only make it better this season. Mixon is a fine RB1.
