News: 3 hours agoMahomes completed 33 of 44 passes for 378 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 42-36 overtime win over the Bills. He added 69 yards and a touchdown on seven rushing attempts.
Spin: Mahomes scored an eight-yard rushing touchdown and threw a two-yard score to Byron Pringle in the first half. After a quiet third quarter, Mahomes turned it on as the Bills and Chiefs traded leads down the stretch. A 64-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill put the Chiefs up 33-29 with 1:02 remaining, but the Bills retook the lead with 13 seconds left, only for Mahomes to complete two passes for 44 yards, setting up Harrison Butker's game-tying 49-yard field goal. Kansas City marched down the field after winning the toss in overtime, with Mahomes' eight-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce sending the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game against the Bengals.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: If not for resting in Week 17 last season, Mahomes may have paced the QB position in fantasy points for the second time in three seasons. Regardless, the 25-year-old still managed his third straight elite showing, ranking top five in pass attempts, passing yards, passing TDs and YPA while also finishing 10th among QBs in rushing yards. Kansas City's overhauled offensive line should cure the pass-blocking woes that plagued the team during the Super Bowl loss and Mahomes will be working in the Chiefs' extremely pass-heavy scheme with the likes of Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce at his disposal. The former league and Super Bowl MVP should be the first QB selected in your fantasy draft.
