News: 7 hours agoBarkley rushed 13 times for 30 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for 24 yards in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Commanders.

Spin: Barkley got to the edge to score a three-yard rushing touchdown out of the wildcat formation and give the Eagles a 10-0 first-quarter lead, but it was all Washington after that. He came into the game averaging 5.7 yards per carry but mustered only 2.3 YPC in this one while playing at less than full health. Barkley didn't sit down when on the sideline in an effort to stay loose and mitigate the effects of the back injury he sustained in Week 7 against Dallas while compensating for a hamstring injury that kept him out of the previous two games. The banged-up Barkley, who didn't notch a touch in the fourth quarter, likely will try to gut it out again in Week 9 against the NFC East-leading Giants.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Barkley is looking to rebound in his ninth NFL season (third with the Eagles) following a big step back in 2025. After producing 2,283 yards and 15 touchdowns on 378 touches in his first season with Philly, Barkley dipped to 1,413 yards and nine scores on 317 touches in 2025. Barkley fell from first among backs in fantasy points per game (22.5) to 15th (14.5). Now 29 years old, it's possible Barkley's best days are behind him, but he's still positioned as a clear feature back in a good offense that will have a healthier line and a new playcaller in Sean Mannion. Barkley is riskier than ever, but he's still worthy of mid- to back-end RB1 consideration.
