News: 6 days agoCallaway (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the 49ers.
Spin: Callaway was also a healthy scratch Week 10, and although he suited up Week 11 against the Rams, he only saw one target, which he caught for a six-yard gain. He'll now work to be active Week 13 against the Buccaneers.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Callaway exited 2020 as a relative unknown after going undrafted earlier that year and barely seeing the field as a rookie. A strong showing during the 2021 offseason, coupled with injuries to Michael Thomas and Tre'Quan Smith, and Callaway was suddenly New Orleans' No. 1 wide receiver. He averaged 15.2 yards per reception (12th highest) in his role as a vertical target, but he simply wasn't very productive or consistent. Even with six touchdowns on the board, Callaway finished 43rd in fantasy points. The 24-year-old is a strong bet for a step back this season with substantially more competition for targets in the form of Thomas, Jarvis Landry and first-round pick Chris Olave. Callaway is best left on waivers.
