News: 6 days agoDavis caught one of four targets for a 35-yard touchdown and rushed once for minus-2 yards in Sunday's 37- 3 win over the Commanders.
Spin: Davis' 35-yard touchdown in the first quarter gave him a receiving score in consecutive games, but he failed to record another catch in the blowout win. Stefon Diggs has 32 targets to Davis' 15 through three games, but the Bills may need big games from both of Josh Allen's top two wide receivers in Week 4 to keep pace with an undefeated Dolphins team coming off a 70-point performance.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Davis entered the 2022 season well positioned for a huge breakout in Buffalo's high-scoring, pass-heavy offense. It simply didn't happen. As expected, Davis was promoted into an every-down role opposite Stefon Diggs, but he was pigeonholed into a situational deep-threat role (his 15.4 aDOT and 17.4 YPR both ranked second in the league), which led to a weak 6.2 targets per game and a horrific 52% catch rate. Davis also led the league with nine drops and has yet to reach 50 catches or eight TDs in a season. The latter is a bit surprising considering he has 35 end zone targets (sixth-most among all players) since he was drafted in 2020. The 24-year-old's role will allow the occasional big game but also a ton of duds, and his 2022 output has serious Marquez Valdes-Scantling vibes. There's some post-hype sleeper appeal here, but Davis is worth no more than a bench spot.
