News: 2 days agoKmet caught three passes for 13 yards in the Bears' 20-12 loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Spin: Kmet tied for second on the Bears in targets with three, as Justin Fields threw 22 passes, which was Fields' highest total of the season. With five catches for 33 yards over four games, Kmet has been a disappointment for those who drafted him as a top-10 tight end.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Kmet is entering his third NFL season after a bizarre 2021 campaign in which he was a featured target, but simply couldn't find the end zone. Kmet finished second among tight ends in snaps, as well as no lower than 12th in routes, targets, receptions and yardage. He also saw six end zone targets (14th most), but somehow failed to score a single touchdown. As a result, Kmet ended up 20th in fantasy points, but bad luck was obviously a major culprit. The 2020 second-round pick is obviously a full-time player and he's in an even better spot this season as QB Justin Fields enters his second season. Kmet is a breakout candidate in his age-23 campaign and a fine TE2 target.
