News: 5 days agoPitts secured five of six targets for 73 yards in the Falcons' 48-25 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Spin: The fourth overall pick slogged through his NFL debut against the Eagles a week ago, but Pitts looked much more the part Sunday in a tough defensive matchup. Pitts notched a team-high 24-yard reception on his way to pacing the Falcons in receiving yardage, and he also flashed improved efficiency after bringing in only half his eight targets in Week 1. Pitts will look to continue his ascent against a vulnerable Giants defense in a Week 3 road battle.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Pitts was selected by Atlanta with the fourth-overall pick of April's draft. The Florida product is one of the best TE prospects in league history, as he sports an elite combination of height (6-foot-6), athleticism and ball skills to go along with terrific speed (4.44 40 yard dash) and hands (no drops in 2020). Oh, and he's only 20 years old. Pitts is on the thin side (245 pounds) and a work in progress as a blocker, but that won't hinder his elite upside as a pass catcher. He'll immediately step in as Matt Ryan's No. 2 target behind Calvin Ridley. Yes, rookie TEs are rarely fantasy relevant, but if anyone can be the exception, it's Pitts. Consider him a mid-range TE1.
