News: 1 day agoSmith-Njigba brought in 12 of 16 targets for 134 yards in the Seahawks' 17-14 overtime loss to the Broncos on Thursday.
Spin: Despite the Broncos being down Pat Surtain (ankle) and Talanoa Hufanga (ankle), Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks' air attack as a whole couldn't get much going through the first half-plus of play. The All-Pro receiver turned it on in the later portion of the contest, however, and he ultimately finished with season highs in receptions and targets, along with his second-highest amount of receiving yards. Smith-Njigba already has five 100-yard efforts in his first six games of the season, and his tendency to dominate Sam Darnold's attention once again will make him an elite option in all formats during a Week 7 Sunday night home showdown against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday, Oct. 25.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: The reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Smith-Njigba is fresh off a breakout season in which he paced all receivers in target share (36%), receiving yards (1,793), air yards (1,858) and yards per route run (3.8), while finishing no lower than fourth in targets, catches, touchdowns and fantasy points. JSN delivered top-10 fantasy weeks 10 times throughout 2025 and scored at least 13 points in 16 of 17 games. The 24-year-old is just now entering his prime and remains well positioned to handle one-third of the targets in Seattle's Sam Darnold-led offense. Smith-Njigba is an elite fantasy option who should be off the board in the early-to-middle part of Round 1.
