Spin: There are no updates on the fifth-round rookie's issue and it is unclear when he might return to the team. Royer was set to be the No. 2 tight end behind Harold Fannin. In the 24-year-old's absence, Blake Whiteheart, Brenden Bates and fellow rookie Carsen Ryan have been competing for the No. 2 reps.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Royer was selected by the Browns in the fifth round of April's draft. After barely seeing the field during three seasons at Ohio State, Royer broke out with a 50-522-3 receiving line (21% target share) in 2024, prior to dipping to 29-416-4 (10%) in 2025. He has solid size with big hands and could emerge as a versatile depth option. He'll compete with a handful of veterans for Cleveland's No. 2 gig behind Harold Fannin Jr. this season.
