News: 3 days agoWright had two kick returns for 106 yards alongside one carry for a one-yard loss in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Raiders.
Spin: Wright was an afterthought behind starting running back De'Von Achane, who had 11 carries and five targets in the loss. The No. 2 option likely will make a living as a returner -- he had a 79-yard return Sunday -- with snaps and touches looking minimal behind Achane.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Wright will once again compete with second-year Ollie Gordon II for backup reps behind feature back De'Von Achane. Wright has barely cleared 70 touches during each of his first two NFL seasons, but he has shined at times, including a 24-107-1 rushing line in Week 14 last season. The 2024 fourth-round pick has been effective as a rusher, but hasn't been involved in the passing game (15 targets in 25 games). The 23-year-old would be worth adding only in the event of an Achane injury and even then, it's possible he would split (or be on the short end of a committee) with Gordon in a rebuilding offense that may not score very often.
