News: 6 days agoLeonard is in a competition for the No. 2 quarterback role in Indianapolis in 2026, JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site reports.

Spin: Leonard continues to split reps with Anthony Richardson with the Colts' second-team offense as training camp gets underway. The second-year pro was impressive in his only start last season, completing 21 of 34 passes for 270 yards and two touchdowns while also throwing an interception in the Colts' 38-30 loss to the Texans in Week 18. Leonard and Richardson are both expected to be members of the Colts' initial 53-man roster in 2026.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Leonard is expected to operate as the Colts' No. 2 quarterback this season. It's a notable designation, as starter Daniel Jones continues to recover from a torn Achilles suffered in Week 14 last season. Should Jones miss time to begin the 2026 season, Leonard is positioned to start. Leonard made one start as a rookie, throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 21 yards and an additional score, primarily against Houston's backup defense in Week 18. The 2025 sixth-round pick adds value with his legs, but he'd be no more than a fringe QB2 even if called on to start.
