Spin: The injury is a minor one, as head coach Jeff Hafley relayed Sunday that Gordon would have been cleared to return had it been a regular-season game. Gordon's practice participation over the coming days will be worth monitoring, as it will indicate whether the 2025 sixth-rounder will play in Friday's preseason finale against the Falcons. He is competing against Jaylen Wright for the RB2 role behind De'Von Achane.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Gordon is battling Jaylen Wright for backup work behind lead back De'Von Achane in Miami. Gordon was used sparingly as a rookie and didn't exactly move the needle. The 2025 sixth-round pick averaged an ugly 2.84 yards per carry on 70 attempts and 3.6 yards per target on the nine balls thrown his way. Gordon is still very young (22 years old), and his size (6-foot-1, 226 pounds) adds to his long-term intrigue. He'll have some insurance appeal if he beats out Wright for primary backup duties.
