Fantasy Football
News: 4 days agoCooper caught his only target for nine yards in Friday's 17-0 preseason win over the Steelers.
Spin: Cooper's lone catch came on a pass from fellow rookie Cade Klubnik in the two-minute drill to end the first half, with the Jets' second-string offense in the game. The rookie first-round pick out of Indiana has yet to work his way ahead of slot receiver Isaiah Williams, while Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell appear entrenched as the team's top two wide receivers until further notice. Cooper's likely to feature in next Friday's preseason finale against the Giants, even if the Jets rest their veteran starters.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Cooper was selected by the Jets in the first round of April's draft. The Indiana product is fresh off a breakout 2025 season in which he posted a 69-937-13 receiving line after totaling 46 catches during his first three seasons with the Hoosiers. Primarily a perimeter target in limited action from 2022 to 2024, Cooper aligned in the slot on 80% of his routes last season. He is a short-area target (9.0 aDOT last season), but still posted strong efficiency numbers, including a 2.61 YPRR. He'll begin his career opposite Garrett Wilson in New York's Geno Smith-led offense and is unlikely to produce consistent flex value as a rookie.
