News: 2 days agoJohnson logged eight carries for 42 yards and lost one fumble in the Packers' 17-14 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Spin: Johnson had a strong 5.3 yards per carry in the win but coughed up the football in a close game. The running back relinquished the ball to Tykee Smith with 9:13 remaining in the fourth quarter on the Tampa Bay 4-yard line while the Packers were up by only three points. The defense held off the Buccaneers offense, but it appears the Packers chose to ride MarShawn Lloyd to finish out the game.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Johnson was traded to Green Bay in August after his rookie season in Pittsburgh didn't go as planned. Drafted in the third round as a potential Najee Harris replacement, Johnson quickly found himself buried behind Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell and never recovered, even losing his kick returner role after a costly Week 2 blunder. He ended his first campaign with 78 yards on 29 touches. The 23-year-old will enter his second season with a fresh start and very well could get some early-season run with Josh Jacobs facing a suspension. Johnson will compete for reps with unproven Marshawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks. Keep him stashed in dynasty.
