News: 3 days agoCuevas caught both his targets for 15 yards in Friday's 41-3 preseason win over the Commanders.

Spin: Veterans Mark Andrews and Durham Smythe once again were kept off the field, leaving Cuevas and fellow rookie Matthew Hibner to handle most of the tight-end duties. Cuevas, a fifth-round pick out of Alabama, caught Tyler Huntley's first pass of the night before connecting with Joe Fagnano for a short gain in the second quarter. Neither young TE stood out in the exhibition finale, and their battle for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart could extend into the regular season.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Cuevas was selected by the Ravens in the fifth round of April's draft. Cuevas wasn't targeted much during three collegiate seasons at Washington and Alabama (57-793-6, 5% target share), but he was effective when called on, averaging 10.4 yards per target. He's a bit of a tweener and underwhelmed athletically at the combine, but can help as a blocker and receiver. He'll battle fellow rookie Matthew Hibner for snaps behind Mark Andrews and Durham Smythe this season.
