Fantasy Hockey
ESPN Fantasy Projection: While Barkov by no means played poorly in 2022-23 (23 goals, 78 points in 68 games), he was a minor disappointment from a fantasy perspective. The root of that was the fact Barkov has dealt with nagging injuries in recent years. He's played no more than those previously mentioned 68 games in a season dating back to the 2018-19 campaign. The optimistic point of view would be that Barkov posted 30 points with the man advantage (30) for the second time in his career last year and still put-up reasonable scoring numbers despite an 11.1 percent shooting percentage, his worst mark in half a decade. The injury risk here is real and considerably higher than many other players that will go early in your fantasy draft, but the upside is significant.
